MID-SUMMER 2006 NEWS

Perma-tour 2005-2006-... rolls on and on, and things just keep getting better. It's been 1 year, 2 months, 3 days and counting, since we moved out of our place in McCall, and we've been non-stop touring throughout the Northwest ever since. And it's been paying off - the word is getting out. Everywhere we go, we're seeing lots of new faces joining all of our loyal fans and FOMily, and throughout the summer we've had an ever-growing caravan of friends joining us on the road. Frame of Mind tour - it's the perfect vacation!

FRAME OF MIND - VIA SATELLITE
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your support! Many of you have been emailing and calling Sirius Satellite Radio with requests for our music and positive feedback, and it's working! In the short time since they added "The Good Life" to the playlist, that song has gone from "B" rotation to "A" rotation, AND they've added a live track, "It's All Good" (recorded at John's Alley, Moscow, ID 2-3-06). And it's because of you! Sirius DJ (and guitarist of New Riders of the Purple Sage) Buddy Cage said on the air that it's because we've been getting "INTENSE POSITIVE FEEDBACK."
Thanks largely to the airplay we've been enjoying on Sirius Jam_ON, we have been shipping our CD's everywhere across the country, even a few to more exotic places. Thanks to every one of you - you are helping make this happen. We've received many emails, with many a kind word, and the common question is, "When are you going to play here?" The answer is - "As soon as we can!" If you have info on a place for us to play, drop us a line. Playing live in new places is something we like to do, and you can help.

FRAME OF MIND ONLINE
There are now two places you can go to get the latest gig info, downloads, pics, etc. In addition to our official website, WWW.FRAMEOFMINDLIVE.COM
we also have www.myspace.com/frameofmindlive. Check out both - there are a couple of streaming videos (and Asteroids) on the Myspace, and we will be putting all-new live mp3's on the fom-dot-com. The mp3's that are on there now will be taken down to make room, so if you haven't downloaded them yet, make sure you do it before they get replaced.

Also, we have NEW MERCANDISE available - ringer t-shirts, girl's speghetti-strap style shirts, regular t-shirts. Look for pics on the website soon. Colors and sizes are subject to availability, so email us before you order to make sure we have what you want.

YOU CAN HELP THE CAUSE
We would not be where we are now without the invaluable support of all of you. Thanks to everyone! The common question is: how can I help? With the wealth of skill and knowledge possessed by YOU, our friends and FOMily, there is nothing that can't be accomplished.
Here's a few specific things that would help immensely:
•Promotions - street teams, radio, press, internet, word of mouth. Spread the word and bring people to the shows.
•New FOM logo - something simple yet eye-catching that we could use for anything from flyers to posters to shirts and stickers.
•Bus mechanic/driver - Right now the Phoenix, our '66 MCI bus, is currently stationed in Reno. If you are (or know of) an experienced mechanic in that area, let us know if you can help with some minor problems before our trip to Burning Man in August. We aren't planning on taking her on extended tour until next year, when we will be needing a driver, preferably with the mechanical skills to keep her running smoothly.
If you can help, simply email us (contact page). Your support is greatly appreciated!

WHERE WE'VE BEEN ~ WHERE WE'RE GOING
We're just now getting back to the Northwest, after having a great time and meeting some of the friendliest people on our Mid-west Leg. Thanks to everyone who made us feel welcome in new territory. We had a great time jamming with an old friend, Clint Martinez, and his trio in Missouri; and jamming with some new friends at Corn-stalk in Minnesota.

Late in August, we will be making the pilgrimage to BURNING MAN in Black Rock, Nevada. We're planning on playing there everyday, and then some, as part of the Volcano Room at Camp Kapilina. For more info, visit www.kapilina.org. We will be setting out for the Playa from Reno with our bus and van, so if you're planning on going, let us know. We are not able to hook anyone up with admission, but we may be able to help with transportation.

We've recently added a whole slew of shows, and re-arranged our schedule a bit, so make sure you go to the shows page for the latest updates. We will be playing our first show at the BIG EASY in Boise, Saturday, August 26 8:00, opening for the Young Dubliners. EMAIL US FOR TICKETS! We've also added a show at the RIVER RANCH in Tahoe.

We hope you all are having as great a summer as we are, and we look forward to seeing you at the shows!

February, 2006 news:

CATCH IT TRY
IS FINALLY HERE!

After a long 10 months of post-production hurdles, we are very pleased to announce that Frame of Mind's new full length album, Catch It Try is now available! To order online, please visit the Merchandise page.

This album was recorded in it's entirety during the month of May of 2005, in McCall, Idaho, just before we moved out of our studio there to embark on the tour that we're still on. It was written, performed and produced by Frame of Mind, and engineered and Mastered by Eric Schooley.

There are a 11 original songs on Catch It Try, with a total of 13 tracks on the CD, featuring a 17+ minute purely improvisational jam that spans 3 tracks: Thinking Aloud in a Circle~Space~Something More Intense. (Even though we recorded this jam straight through and it is one piece, we decided to name it's 3 different movements and track them seperately.) Some of the songs on this album, such as The Good Life and Want Love, have been in FOM's repertoire for years, while others like Confused and Thinking of You are newer compositions. Different versions of two of the songs, Electric Blue and Catch It Try, were released on Acoustic, which we recorded last year.

True to Frame of Mind's style, Catch It Try is an eclectic album, which will likely leave you wondering what genre to classify it. There is the hard rocking song The Break, and there's the smooth latin flavors of Turtle Neck Sway; the funky bass-slappin Want Love, and then there's the power balad, Surrender. There's instrumentals and vocal harmonies.

We wanted to capture the variety and energy of our live shows, which is why we recorded it the way we did, playing all together in one room, playing our instruments live in the studio, with a minimum of overdubs, bucking the current trend in the recording industry of laying down every track seperately. Frame of Mind is a live band, and we wanted you to feel that, to get a taste of the live experience in a studio album. So hear it is. We hope you enjoy it!

Speaking of FOM being a live band - on with perma-tour!
The road has been good to us. Recently, we had the honor to share the stage with Galactic at Caesar's in South Lake Tahoe. What an awesome time that was! Not only did we do the opening set on the big stage, we also did the after-party, playing till 3:30 in the morning. It was definitely a night to remember.

As I write, we're in Oregon, playing a bunch of new places for us. Thanks to all of our friends here, new and old, that have received us so well. Next we're going to head down to Northern Cali - Humboldt here we come! March will see us in Tahoe and Idaho, then back to Tahoe. In April we will be taking a much needed vacation for a couple of weeks, but never fear, we will be right back to the road into summer again, which is already starting to shape up to be an adventure. Check the shows page often, as new gigs are popping up left and right.

See you at the show!

~Frame of Mind

November 2005 news:

It's been a while since our last update, and a lot of you are asking what we're up to these days. We're in our sixth month of this current tour, still rolling along, playing shows all the time in all kinds of places. If we haven't been to your town lately, chances are we'll be there before too long.

Where we're headed
For the rest of November, we'll be playing some shows around Idaho, and then we head back to the Lake Tahoe area for the first part of December. Then we're back in Idaho again for the holidays. For more details on where we're heading, and where we've been recently, check out the "shows" page of the website.

Where we've been
"So, how's the road been treating you?" That seems to be the question everyone is asking us. It's constantly an adventure. You never know what's going to happen. Just the other night in Missoula, Montana we had Claude French, from Ween, sit in on drums for a jam. A couple of weeks ago we had The Exit, currently on tour with 311, play on one of our set breaks in Boise. The Shook Twins played some songs with us (and we even backed them up for one of theirs) at a few different shows in Moscow and Sandpoint. We spent most of October hanging out in the Tahoe area, and it was a blast. We played the after-party for moe., and Gov't Mule at Cesar's. What a great night that was! We got to see both bands play, which was a real treat. Then we played until the club shut down at 3:30 in the morning, and the joint was hoppin'. We made lots of new friends. By the time we left the casino to go to the hotel, the early bird gamblers were already after their one-armed worms. Also, we were on TV there, on RSN network. That was a blast. We played live on the air (way too early in the morning, after playing the casino the night before) and it was aired 3 times daily for a week. That was pretty damn cool. But can you believe that we didn't get a copy? No VCR in the van. That's ok, we're scheduled back there on Tues. Dec. 13th. So for those of you who still have VCR's (what's that - tape?) you'll get another chance.

Other news
For anyone interested, the bus sale info is online at: http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/car/103954116.html There are lots of pictures. If you know of anyone interested, they can email Ryan at ryan@frameofmindlive.com for more info.

August 2005 news:

We're CHARGING through the high season - can you believe it's almost August already? It's been an incredible summer so far - whitewater rafting in Montana, surfing in Southern Califonia, cliff diving in Lake Tahoe, and the best part of course, playing music all the time. And the good times roll on...
August will see us all over Idaho, California (Tahoe and Mammoth), Utah, Wyoming, and who knows where else. Keep checking the website, as new shows are added almost daily these days. For Labor Day weekend, we'll be in West Glacier, Montana (on the doorstep of Glacier National Park) playing the 3rd and 4th at Heaven's Peak. If you're looking for a place to vacation for the long weekend, make your travel arrangements now! It will be a party to remember to cap off an unforgetable summer tour! (Not that we'll be playing any less in September!)
Thank you all for making our travels adventures and shows a continually awesome experience! And a big thanks to all of you who have emailed us positive vibes - if we can't reply to them all it's only because we're on the road and don't have internet all the time, but we do read them and we do get stoked!
As always, if any of you (or someone you know) wants to aid us in our mission email us (or call the number on the website). We need help with: artwork for the soon to be released CD, as well as posters and flyers; promotion, press, radio, places to play, places to stay after shows, a good hot meal, etc. And, we are still looking for a traveling diesel mechanic/ bus driver. Any and all help is greatly appreciated (and rewarded with cool FOM stuff).

July 2005 news:

Be sure to check out the "Sounds" page of the website, as we've added 5 advance tracks off of the freshly recorded album "Catch It Try" which is set to be released late this summer. Stay informed so you know when this new CD will be available for sale - check the website often, or better yet, make sure you're on the mailing list.

Summer tour is in full swing, and Frame of Mind is busier than ever! In July alone, we're playing 23 days, 3 of which we've got double gigs - go to the "tour dates" page for the most current show schedule.

Also, we are now the proud owners of a '66 MCI tour bus! If anyone is interested in joining our crew and being on the road with us as driver/mechanic, email us.

See you at the show, where ever you are!

June 2005 news:

Well, summer's here and Frame of Mind is on perma - tour! Click here to check out an article that appeared in the Star Newspaper.

Good news ~ the new electric album, titled Catch It Try, is now finished! We recorded it entirely in one month (finished mixing it just a few days ago) and we're all really stoked on the way it came out. 13 tracks, one of which is a 17 minute-plus improvisational jam - for all of you that have always asked, "why don't you have a jam on your album like you do live?" Well there you go. So now we have two brand spanking new albums, both recorded this year, out to hit the road with.

And hitting the road is what we're doing, in a big way.

We've just moved out of our house in McCall, Idaho and are getting a tour bus next week! So, the road being where we live now, I guess that makes us YOUR NEIGHBOR! There goes the neighborhood. ;-)

March 2005 news:

It's official, the new Frame of Mind album, "Acoustic" is finished! (Just in time for the geese to pick it up on their way back north.) Yes, it's all mixed and off to be pressed. The release date is set for March 26th, when we'll be having the official CD release party here in McCall. For those of you who just can't wait, we've got some of the new tracks right here on the official FOM website, www.frameofmindlive.com and just go to the sounds page and check it out!

It's been quite a busy winter for us, having done 2 tours in 2 months in addition to recording. Right on the heels of January's tour around the Tahoe area, last month we had a full schedule of shows in Colorado. When I say full, I mean overflowing - we had one day off, and wound up at an open mic in Gunnison that night - no rest for the wicked. Both were really successful tours, with lots of good times and lots of new and familiar faces. Many thanks to all of you who made it a great experience, especially Mama's Cookin' in Gunnison, KBUT in Crested Butte, KDNK in Carbondale, Brent Moss, and of course all of our new friends all over the gorgeous state of Colorado!

Speaking of no rest, next month we are planning a tour that will take us through Mammoth Lakes, Tahoe and Humboldt, CA, as well as some dates in Oregon. Stay tuned for details, or better yet, get on the mailing list!

Also, if you're one of those uber-cool people who like to help out, i.e. put up posters, hand out flyers, etc., email us and we'll be glad to hook you up with some goodies.

See you at the show!

New Year's 2005 news:

We had a press write-up in the December' issue of The Arbiter, Boise State University's newspaper. Click here to check it out.

We've been called the hardest working band in Idaho, and you'd better believe it! We've been playing acoustic gigs every day between our electric gigs on all the other days, and between that we've been putting the finishing touches on the upcoming acoustic album.

We've been playing relatively close to our home in McCall while we finish up the recording, but we've got some tours coming your way. We'll be in the Reno and Lake Tahoe areas in mid-late January. Early February we'll be up in the Panhandle of Idaho, (Moscow and Sandpoint... good times!) Then we'll be going thru Utah and then a whole slew of gigs in Colorado; we're kicking that leg off with back to back to back shows in Steamboat Springs for presidents day weekend. (insert political joke here)

Check the website often, as new gigs are added faster than we can play them. Also, new pictures and plenty of live mp3's are coming soon to a monitor near you! And then maybe we'll come out with a special extended version...

Yet another good reason to love the internet, we are now taking online orders for Frame of Mind CD's, T-shirts, sweatshirts and the like. We accept credit cards online, thru Paypal. Just email us at fom@frameofmindlive.com and let us know what it is that you really want from us.

That's all the news I can think of at the moment. We hope all of you are having a good holiday season.

~See you at the show!

NEWS FOR THE FOMILY 10-24-04

It has been awhile since the last news update so there is a lot to share with all of you.

The new album is out! The latest project, "Good Medicine," has ten brand spanking new tracks guaranteed to get your money-maker shaking. The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered in the Frame of Mind's own studio, at the FOMpound. It is available on the website right this second, and at all live shows. T-shirts are available on the web too, but if you get yourself to a show you can get one there. Downloads of a few songs from "Good Medicine" are available here so check them out and if you like what you hear… send us some money.

Bruce Maurey, long time drummer and good friend, has decided to leave the band to further his career in graphic design and fine art. Lucky for us, Bruce will continue his excellent design work for Frame of Mind. We wish Bruce all the best. Fortunately Ryan Russell, who played miscellaneous percussion on "Good Medicine," was ready and willing to fill the shoes of full-time drummer and percussionist. (Even though he wears no shoes!) We are all stoked to be jamming with him.

Frame of Mind now has a crew. Nik Green, aka Stage Manager, aka Supermodel Roadie, aka SikNik is heading up the crew end of things. And, Eric Schooley, aka Sound Guy, aka Pro Roller, aka Sku Li is handling the live sound and recording. Cody Fisher, aka R&D, aka Fish, is helping with research and promos. Seredipity Dog, aka Band-Dog, aka Sere, aka "NO!" is guarding the van and keeping our lives a little more interesting. A few more mouths to feed!

Frame of Mind just returned to the FOMpound after a short fall tour of the Western half of the U.S. The Final shows and cap of the tour took place at Voodoo Fest in the Big Easy, New Orleans. Pictures of F.O.M. at the festival will soon be available here.

Two new projects are in the works and are hoped to be done soon. An almost acoustic album and a special holiday album should be available by the New Year. Keep checking the site for updates because you do not want to miss these.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP US GET THE WORD OUT???

There is currently an operation in progress to form Street Teams. It would consist of folks putting up fliers around their town to help advertise the up and coming shows in your area, so as to make more of a funfilled atmosphere for "the fomily". Participants will receive custom t-shirts and stickers. If you're interested, send an email to us at fom@frameofmindlive.com and include your mailing address so you can get our Street Team Flier Kit.
